Composition
I wrote my first pieces while living at the Pauline Oliveros Foundation in Kingston, NY. Pauline Oliveros glanced at my notes scattered all over the floor and decided it was a score. That was my birth as a composer. A score can consist of words, it can be a recipe — or it can consist of seemingly incompatible elements. Over time, the recipes transformed into sonic constructs. Words became instructions…….
Concentrated improviation. Listening to sounds. Exploring, rejecting, searching, putting together – it is a journey into new land!
I am composing for choirs, small ensembles or solo performers.
Audio examples:
Präludium for 10-string guitar with Urs Güntensberger
Monaden for piano solo with Dominik Blum
Pendulum for clarinet ( Valentin Vecellio) and organ ( Margrit Schenker)
KRAK with Valentin Vecellio clarinet and Margrit Schenker, Accordion and voice
Entlebucher Klänge (Sounds of Entlebuch) with Thomas Unternährer, English horn, Yodel by Barbara Unternährer and Margrit Schenker, organ.
